WellChoice, Inc. Statement Regarding NYS Attorney General Complaint against Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. and Marsh, Inc.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2004--WellChoice, Inc. (NYSE: WC) issued the following statement in response to inquiries the company has received regarding New York State Attorney General Spitzer's complaint against Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. and Marsh, Inc.:

"WellChoice does not engage in any of the practices cited in the complaint filed by the Attorney General against Marsh."
